Information Stored Locally

The extension stores the following information locally on your device only using Chrome's sync storage:

  1. OpenRouter API Key - Your personal API key (if you choose to provide one) is stored securely in Chrome's encrypted sync storage and never transmitted to our servers.
  2. Subscription Status - Information about your subscription plan (free trial, monthly, annual, or lifetime) is stored locally to manage access to features.
  3. Trial Start Date - The date you installed the extension to track your 7-day free trial period.
  4. User Preferences - Settings like your preferred AI provider (OpenRouter or Browser AI).

All this data is stored using Chrome's built-in storage API and is synced across your Chrome browsers if you're signed into Chrome. We have no access to this data.

Third-Party Services

OpenRouter API (Optional)

If you choose to use OpenRouter as your AI provider:

  • You provide your own OpenRouter API key
  • Content is sent directly from your browser to OpenRouter's servers
  • OpenRouter's privacy policy applies to data they process
  • We do not have access to your OpenRouter account or usage data

Browser AI (Optional)

If you choose to use Chrome's built-in Browser AI:

  • Processing happens locally in your browser

Payment Processing

Subscription payments are processed through our external payment provider at aiea.dev:

  • We do not store credit card information
  • Payment data is handled by our payment processor
  • You will be redirected to a secure checkout page

Permissions Explained

PromptsPanel requests the following Chrome permissions:

  • activeTab - To read webpage content when you invoke a prompt
  • scripting - To extract article content automatically
  • contextMenus - To add prompts to right-click menu
  • sidePanel - To display the prompt browser interface
  • storage - To save your API key and preferences locally
  • notifications - To notify you about trial status and processing completion
  • tabs - To open payment pages and manage the side panel
  • offscreen - To enable Browser AI processing
  • alarms - To check trial expiration daily
  • host permissions (<all_urls>) - To work on any webpage you visit

These permissions are used solely for the extension's functionality and not for data collection.

Data Security

  • Your OpenRouter API key is stored using Chrome's secure storage API
  • All data remains on your device
  • No data is transmitted to PromptsPanel servers
  • The extension is open source and can be audited

Children's Privacy

PromptsPanel does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The extension is not directed at children.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of any material changes by updating the "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

Your Rights
